Thou Shalt Not Judge!

Sorry to disappoint you, but the bible doesn't say we cannot judge. Most people who will quote you that scripture have never even read the bible, much less, read it IN CONTEXT. Please allow me to explain what the bible DOES say about judging. The scripture "judge not lest ye be judged" can be found in Matthew 7. Let's quote the WHOLE context this time shall we? "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye, and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." (Matthew 7:1-5) Notice the scripture here is speaking of judging someone WHEN YOU ARE DOING THE SAME THING. It's telling us not to be hypocrites.

For example, If I judge you for smoking weed but I smoke weed too, them I'm going to be judged a hypocrite. The scripture is not saying do not judge, it is saying don't be a hypocrite. The Word of God is the STANDARD by which we ARE to judge. Just because I point out something like homosexuality or adultery is wrong according to the scriptures, it doesn't mean I'm condemning you, it means I'm POINTING OUT to you that is is wrong, so you will hopefully repent. If you have a problem with sin being pointed out in your life, take it up with God, He makes the rules, not us. Now, for those of you who still think we are not to judge others, let me ask you a question. If someone came to your house, raped your wife and killed your children, would you think that was person was wrong for doing so? If you answered honestly, the answer would be yes. So why then are you judging them? I thought we weren't supposed to judge? Judge not lest ye be judged remember?

The fact is, we ARE to judge, by the STANDARD God has set forth in His Word. Right from wrong, according to God. Thou shalt not kill? If you think we aren't supposed to judge people, next time you go to court, tell the judge he cannot judge you, then send me a postcard from jail and lemme me know what he said. Now, please allow me to show you some scripture that tells us otherwise. "Do ye not know that the saints shall JUDGE the world? And if the world shall be JUDGED by you, are ye unworthy to JUDGE the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall JUDGE angels? How much more things that pertain to this life?" (1Corinthians 6:2,3) "Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season, reprove, (correct) rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." (2Timothy 4:2) Now, please know, judging is a standard, NOT condemnation...know the difference. Christ didn't come to condemn us, but to save us. God is not condemning you, but the Holy Spirit may certainly be CONVICTING you...again, know the difference. So, next time you want to"partially" quote the bible to make some stupid point, you should know better.
